What else can we say but THANK YOU to everyone that made the first year of X-Fest truly an amazing event.

Sure we did have some problems that came with running this event but behind the scenes we all came together as a team to make collective changes that would make Saturday's show run without a problem.

Over 500 people were involved in the operations from bartenders to garbage clean up to people driving bands from the Winnipeg airport to Brandon etc... in my opinion of running events for 20 years this was a remarkable operation behind the scenes.

I personally don't know where to start thanking people

Tracey and Terry and all their staff from Molson and Coors.
Steve and everyone from the Co Operators
Naydia & Ron Ball and everyone from Westman Dreams for Kids and the Flick Family
Heather and Career Connections
Mark and Joan from Turtle Crossing and their kids and staff
All the staff from Battlefield The Cat Rental Store for going the extra mile
Craig Mayor from Trilevel Graphix for doing so much for us I can't explain

All the bands were all awesome to deal with and no crazy attitudes etc that you hear about.
Everyone was a class act.

The bands agents - Ralph James and Lorraine Webb at the Agency Group in Toronto, Rob Wright at SL Feldman & Assoc in Vancouver and Andrew Goodfriend at TKO in Hollywood.

Production crew - Danny from Allstar in Edmonton, Jimi Kinsmen from Audioworks in Winnipeg, Joe and his crew, Mitch & Cody Iwasiuk, Chad Gaborieau and Gordy Dehn.

Production office staff - Joanne, Shelley, Shane, Kara, Caitlin, Amanda, and Jordana (not only were they amazing but we had the hottest staff in North America)

Media - James and Joanne at the Brandon Sun, CKX TV, Wheat City Journal , Adam Sobkow and ebrandon.ca, Dunc and the crew at Freq FM, Randi and everyone at KX 96, Verna, Tyler, Heather and Jenna at Star FM, my good buddy Mike Stackhouse from the Fox in Yorkton.

Wes and John from Red Bull
Trevor and Rick from Brandon Police Service
Keith Tramer from Tramer Agencies
Iggy and Debby and Sean at OBO
Reid and his guys from I am a Wild Party (wow you worked your ass off)
Vendors and Sponsors for stepping up and believing in X Fest
Shea Kokorudz from running the mountain bike competition
Lois at the Discovery Centre
Mayor Dave and all the City Council members that thought X Fest would be an amazing idea for Brandon
Gord Boultbee from Leech Printing
Neil and everyone at Richmond Signs
Bob Patterson
Debby Long and Glen Parker at the Brandon Sun
David Kaye and Mel from Sideshow Productions
Kevin at Tasmanian Gravel
JD from the Canad Inn
All our X-Fest girls

I know that we forgot some people and I do apologize

On behalf of all our partners - Dean Esler, Darren Smith, Jamie Munroe, Ryan & George Penner, Jamie Graham, Dean Stewart and myself thank you to the 9,000 people that came to Brandon to check out this little event called X-Fest. Guess what. We are already booking bands for X-Fest 2 plus expanding the site and parking and adding more sporting events.

All the best and feel proud to be part of the first X-Fest 1... because X-Fest 2 will be something that will blow your mind.

Thanks again everyone for your support

3 WEEKS TO GO!

Less than 3 weeks to go and things are starting to get very exciting for all of us.

We have less than 500 weekend passes available and I would suggest calling Ticketmaster or www.ticketmaster.ca. If you live in Brandon tickets can be purchased at the Keystone Centre box office.

Join our on line community at www.facebook.com and swap stories and pictures with the 700 people that are on the XFEST community.

Camping is almost sold out and you need to contact Turtle Crossing directly to purchase your spot.

Parking will be very limited so plan to park at one of the locations we will be making public soon. Shuttle buses will be available every 30 minutes and it is no cost to take our shuttles.

A full line up of food and merchandise vendors will be on site .... Plus we will have three ATM's for debit card and credit card cash advances.

Be sure to listen to FREQ FM in Winnipeg and KX96 and Star FM in Brandon and The Fox in Yorkton for your chance to win tickets to the show.

Thanks again everyone for your support

X-Fest Sells 2,000 weekend packages in seventy hours plus new band added to August 11th lineup!

X-Fest President Darryl Wolski quoted today "We are very pleased to see the progess of this concept... the feedback about Buckcherry, Default, and Hedley is very impressive as well. Without a doubt the people of Brandon and Western Manitoba have spoken that X-Fest will be here for years to come". The planning committee is pleased to announce that after 72 hours over 2,000 weekend packages have been sold. This still leaves roughly 900 weekend passes still available to the public for sale. Tickets can be purchased at the Keystone Centre or www.ticketmaster.ca.

Also recording artists Tin Foil Phoenix from Winnipeg have been added to the August 11th bill. They have just released their new CD "Age of Vipers" which was produced by Juno winning producer Brandon Friessen.

June 10 2007

Well here is it... months of planning / thousands of Emails and Text Messages / a two thousand dollar cell bill that I don't know who is paying for and X-FEST is alive and well in Brandon Manitoba.

Thank you for checking out www.xfestrocks.com and our information on the events, bands, sponsors and vendors. Please check back for updates and changes to this site

Over 10 years ago a little event in Dauphin Manitoba called Countryfest started and now today it is one of the top event in Western Canada. Our goal is to one day be on the same level of what Countryfest has done for Dauphin and Parkland region.

Shea Kokorudz is becoming one of the top Mountain Bike riders in Western Canada and we are pumped to have Shea on board to organize this event and co ordinate the riders and to make them feel at home in Brandon on August 10 & 11th.

Personally I would like to thank the talent agents that I have dealt with for years and they in turn have trusted their artists with us. Ralph James and Lorraine Webb from the Agency Group in Toronto, also Rob Wright at SLFA in Vancouver and Andrew Goodfriend at TKO in Los Angeles. Plus to Terry Beck from Molson Canada who stepped up big to make this part of their Coors Light Trauma Series just based on a phone call we had when I was in Minneapolis in April. Also thanks to Dean Stewart who has spent a million hours on this so far and the rest of my working partners and investors that believe in this concept.

My theory is if we can pack in the people with the right mixture of bands, entertainment, and a decent ticket price we can't lose. Therefore, you the public can't lose either.

Comments and suggestions are always welcome and I am sure you will find the XFEST experience a memorable one.

Darryl "Beef" Wolski - X-FEST Founder and Talent Buyer / Marketing Director.
ps...and donıt send me stupid Emails like "hey Beef", can you get Metallica or U2 next year?
